Sleeves, high necklines, and full skirts were the fashion highlights of the 2014 Golden Globes night! Maybe it was the January weather, but Hollywood’s leading ladies were wrapped up in full-length gowns that looked absolutely splendid.
But how did these stars stand out from those showing too much skin? Adding a bit of sparkle was the perfect touch to shine on the red carpet. From glittery tulle skirts to classic sequins, many Hollywood stars sparkled by wearing a well covered gown with lots of added embellishments. Although it may not have been the most risqué Golden Globes, it did teach us one thing: sexy style doesn’t mean showing too much skin.
So how do you translate this year’s red carpet style into your own prom dress or formal gown? Since everyone has a favorite celebrity style icon and wants to capture their style, it becomes super easy to do so with fabulous Mac Duggal gowns. Sure, we all love seeing celebrities dressed in their very best! But we also love getting that same style for our own formal events. The key is learning how to dress effortlessly while still keeping that glam of the red carpet. These are a few Golden Globe looks that match a Mac Duggal style.
Sofia Vergara wore a stunning black ball gown that showed off her amazing curves and slimmed her waistline. Taking that “less is more” approach, Sofia wore a gown that covered her stomach and meant that she didn’t have to go on a grueling diet. Mac Duggal Style 48134R from the Black White Red Collection does exactly the same and shows off your legs with a high-low skirt.
We love Cate Blanchett’s style! And her 2014 Golden Globes gown featured a timeless elegance with a little added sex appeal. Black lace on nude is a fabulous way to look sexy and still feel as though you aren’t bearing everything to the world. Mac Duggal Style 50187R keeps that black lace over nude design but also features a very slimming bodice and high neckline.
E!’s own Giuliana Rancic ventured from her usual style trend, and graced the Golden Globes’ red carpet in a magenta ball gown. Although Giuliana doesn’t typically wear a billowing ball gown, we think that she looks incredible! Mac Duggal Style 61355D features that same magenta color with beautiful lace embellishments along the bodice.
Emma Roberts, American Horror Story star, looks every bit as glamorous in a simple and slimming black gown. Her Golden Globes red carpet look can be emulated with Mac Duggal Style 85364R from the Black White Red Collection. This stunning Mac Duggal gown features more sequins along the slight mermaid skirt.
